the thing is steve’s ending would’ve made sense after tfa or even the avengers but not seven movies later, when the russos themselves have gone out of their way to show that both peggy and steve moved on. tws was literally a testament to that, peggy got her happy ending she lived her life with the man she loved, had kids, grew old and had a peaceful life. steve was finally getting that too, he had a family in sam, nat and eventually bucky again. he was learning how to acclimatise to this new world, he moved on, met sharon (who they conveniently forgot about) and finally found his place with people that loved him. and they literally threw all that down the drain and for WHAT, a month long romance and one shared kiss 70 years ago? like the russos really want us to believe that steven grant rogers would 1) forget about his two best friends and family who were dusted 2 mins ago and mourn a woman who died of natural causes like 10 years back 2) abandon said friends right after they got back and leave them to deal with the loss of nat 3) rob peggy of the life she told him she was glad to have 4) sit idly by while his best friend was getting tortured for years and shield was being infiltrated by hydra ???? marvel really don’t deserve rights
onismn. the frustration of being stuck in just one body, that inhabits only one place at a time, which is like standing in front of the departures screen at an airport, flickering over with strange place names like other people’s passwords, each representing one more thing you’ll never get to see before you die.
Just imagine how Bucky must have felt when he saw Steve sitting on that bench. The realization washing over him.
Imagine Bucky processing that Steve left him here, abandoned him, to spend a life with a girl he hadn’t ever even gone on a date with
Imagine Bucky thinking about all the time he could have spent with Steve if Steve had just come back like he promised.
Imagine Bucky telling Sam to approach Steve first because he couldn’t do it himself.
Imagine Bucky trying to understand that Steve was okay with living his life without him, and that Steve chose a life with a stranger rather than a lifelong friend.
Imagine Bucky beating himself up inside because he should be happy for Steve.
Imagine Bucky remembering scrawny little Steve, and always checking alleyways to see if Steve was hurt, hiding in the shadows.
Imagine Bucky remembering how he fought against Hydra for so long, because he had to do it for Steve. He had to do it for his best friend.
Now imagine Bucky remembering Steve telling him he was alright, he wouldn’t leave him, he would be there for him, and imagine Bucky’s heart breaking, because out of all the promises Steve made, he never would have imagined that Steve would ever break that one.
.
“I’m with you till the end of the line”
.
Now finally imagine Bucky still smiling, still strong. Because best friends still stick together, until the very end, right?
A Chris Evans moment went viral when, seated in the front row at the Oscars, he quickly leaped to the aid of actress Regina King when her dress became tangled as she approached the stage. Evans supported King as she straightened it out, then escorted her up a few stairs. The micro-drama was caught on camera; think pieces on chivalry hit the internet the next day. Evans says his phone only recently stopped vibrating with texts from friends and family who caught it. “The bar is so low that literally I did a normal thing, like on par with saying ‘God bless you’ when somebody sneezes, and people thought it was—I don’t know,” he says. Spend some time with Chris Evans and you start to understand that Chris Evans doesn’t drink the Chris Evans Kool-Aid. The actor could certainly steep in celebrity in L.A., but he’d rather be back east, back home, where instead of paparazzi, he’s seen by deer and dogs and maybe a few retirees on their daily workouts, slogging down the road in sweats. Where on the weekends, his old friends like to tell him that he’s a shitty actor, and he’s perfectly cool with that. - ChrisEvansforMen’sJournalMay2019
